The Year Ahead
If you’re not sick of hearing it yet – can you believe it is January again?!
2024 is already lining up to be a very exciting year at The Churn Project, with new groups, wonderful activities planned, and fundraising events to suit every taste. Here is just a little taster of what we’re looking forward to.
- A brand-new Men’s Wellbeing Workshop
A very exciting new series of 3 Men’s Mental Wellbeing Workshops is coming to The Churn Project this January. The first session will be ‘Men and Mental Wellbeing’ on 23rd January, followed by ‘Masculinities and Seeking Support’ on 30th January, and ‘Building Supportive Communities’ on 6th February. All 3 sessions start at 1.30pm.

- Wellbeing Walkathon
This February, step up and keep those fitness goals alive and kicking! We challenge you to walk 100 miles throughout February – and you’re in luck, it’s a leap year so you’re getting a bonus day! Raise sponsorship via Facebook Fundraising, join our online challenge group and then get strolling!
For more information, please contact Erin – erin.hughes@thechurn.org.uk
- Cotswold Way Challenge
After all of that walking in February, you’re half way through the training you’ll need to do to walk the Cotswold Way Challenge on 22nd June. Why not combine the two – use the Wellbeing Walkathon as your training, keep your supporters updated as you go, and finally, in June, take to the stunning hills of the Cotswolds to walk 100km in 2 days. If that sounds a bit much, don’t worry! There are shorter distance options, including 10km, 25km, or 50km.

- IT Café
Starting on Monday 22nd January, our brand-new IT Café from the Ageing Well service is here for all your techy troubles! The sessions will run from 1.30pm – 3.30pm, every two weeks. There is very limited space, so if you would like to come along, booking is absolutely essential.
IT Café is for anybody who has a portable device, to help with any specific queries or general confidence-building. Whether you want to use maps more easily, set up your own wish-list online, or make video calls to your loved ones, come along and we’ll help you. No tech-whizz language and no skipping out steps!
Please call or email Jo to book – jo.williams@thechurn.org.uk
- Royal Parks Half Marathon
If you can think as far ahead as October, you might like to join the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money for The Churn Project. The route takes you 13.1 miles through the heart of London, in a single lap starting and finishing in Hyde Park. Taking in many of the capital’s world-famous landmarks, you’ll run through four of London’s eight Royal Parks – Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’ Park and Kensington Gardens.
If you would like to take on this challenge, please contact Erin – erin.hughes@thechurn.org.uk
